Chapter 23
Jim isn't so dumb after all. He's kind of getting the whole point of why the duke seems different of a real duke and the king seems different of a real king. Huck knows there not real their frauds but why is it that when Jim approaches him with questions about them he still doesn't say anything. I'm sorry if I knew that oh so kings and dukes were not real I would be doing everything they tell me because they would be on my level. I feel as though if your queen Elizabeth your still on my level just with a lot of money.
Chapter 24
Now why they that? They were pretending that they were brothers and lost Mr. Peter Wilks as if he were part of their family. The fact that the others on the steamboat believed them is pathetic. Huck realizes what they are doing once the king tells him to go fetch the duke but why is Huck doing his every command. HE IS A FAKE. What is it that they put Jim in and why did they color Jim's body was it to hide him? Anyways I think them running away from the people in the previous chapters were showing that they really aren't good guys. The king says he's going to visit an old friend but that friend suddenly died the day before, he has now become your "deceased brother" and he had left compensation behind so his daughters would be ok . But there's something I caught up on. How are they all suddenly loving brothers but needed the other people on the steam boat to show them where Peter lived.
Chapter 25
Thank the lord. The doctor is the only one that knows he is lying. Have they ever actually been to England because they are oh so fancy talking about words they use in England and such. How are people so dumb . if it were me I wouldn't be able to cry so much at a funeral if I didn't know the person. What made the king and the duke cry all that much? Don't they think that it'll soon backfire. Where is Jim in all this?
Chapter 26
Now the lies are started to be to much and their forgetting what they said . Why is it that the girls trust him so much. Haven't they learned that you cant trust anyone? How do you treat servants worst then niggers? They have nigger shows in England? They really are bad people. The King is really a greedy person how are you going to not only steal the money the father left for the girls then try to sell their house? The duke actually has a heart because he says the moneys enough but they are still really bad people. The widow atually did teach Huck value because he argues with himself about either stealing the money and hiding it from them or snitching.
Chapter 27
Huck is really smart but how smart. Yes its a good thing that he hides the money but in the coffin? He watches the undertaker drill the coffin close but what sense did that just make. Once the coffin is buried how in the world does Huck think the girls or whoever are suppose to retrieve it? But doesn't know whether the money is still in there or not, who else would have went in their/ But now comes another lie , now the king is pretending to be a preacher. I think this is hilarious like the lies just keep going. But what trust do they have in Huck because once they find that their money is gone then they directly go to him. Its betrayal on all parts if you ask me. The Duke and the king are both betraying this family. Huck has just betrayed both the duke and the kind, and the duke and the king are kind of betraying him as the first culprit. But selling the slaves did they get money off of that or no? But I like that Huck just played them into thinking it was one of the Slaves he had just sold.
Chapter 28
In this chapter it shows that Huck does have a friendship with Jim because when him and Mary Jane conjure up this big plan he thinks of Jim. The old Huck would've just thought of himself but he thought of how it would only effect Jim's life. But its a smart plan. Now I kind of want to see a love story come up with Mary Jane and Huck because if they can come up with a plan like that together then like Ms.Watkins would always say "awe they could have beautiful babies together " : ) OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE FAKES HAVE BEEN REVEALED!. How is it that the real brothers show up. I cant lie for some reason this really just made me crack up. I wish I were in the story to see the looks on everyone's faces.
Chapter 29 & 30
This isn't cool. Now they know Huck has done it all because he ran. Why couldn't he have snuck out quietly and then left, Poor Jim anywhere they the duke the king and Huck can be seen he cant. It has to be difficult on him. But how did the duke and the king fine Jim and Huck when they left off the raft. This a terrible mix up match up of so called friendship. How is the king going to be the one to steal the missing money. In what time did he have time to do so? The duke still has his faults but ignoring that he's pretty decent if you ask me. That's crazy luckily Huck isn't going down for this because the duke believes the king put it in the coffin and the kind thinks the duke put it in the coffin. What a friendship right.
Your thoughts are always so organized and real, I love it. :) Anyway, I'm so glad to see that Huck and Jim's friendship isn't just speculated or talked about, but actually shown to us in these chapters. I was really skeptical about their relationship for a while but the part wherein Jim is considered in Huck and Mary Jane's plan (the part you actually mentioned) kind of solidifies/fixes matters for me. Friendship prevails!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Samantha on the fact that you focused on Huck and Jim's friendship. These past few chapters I have been skeptical on Huck's part but now I'm getting the idea that maybe his intentions are genuine. How he is concerned for Jim's well-being and happiness shows how far they've come. The duke and king were annoying to me, personally. I felt like this whole problem could have been avoided entirely but I guess Twain found a purpose in shedding light on this pointless part of the story.
